SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES
SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES
ABAJ accepts unsolicited articles, reviews, profiles and fiction (see below) from Australian and overseas writers and artists. It may be an experience while visiting Australia by an overseas artist or vice versa. Please send a first proposal via email and put ‘ABAJ Submission’ in the subject title, or send your submission by post.
No payment can be made to contributors at this stage. You will have your work published in an nationally registered serial publication, and you will receive a copy of the issue in which your work is published.
Please fill in the PDF form and return. (if they click here, it should come up with the Submission PDF which I’ve sent you)
Essays - 600 – 1500 words.
Profiles - 600 - 1500 words
Images – 300 dpi minimum JPG format only, dimensions - minimum 800 x 600, approximately 1000kbs if possible (See guidelines for quantity of images)
We work in Adobe InDesign CS2.
* We do not accept previously published submissions. We want the articles to be fresh!!
* We do print previously published images. Please acknowledge the photographer and any other details you think might be important. Copyright of images belongs to the artists or photographers.
* Please caption photos in a separate Word document EXACTLY AS YOU WANT THEM WRITTEN and number the photos with artist’s name eg. Lloyd 1, Lloyd 2, Lloyd 3. Use these numbers as referents for the captions.
* Work may be edited due to space but consultation with the author/artist will be our priority before going to print.
